Skies that move
A cloud timelapse turns minutes of weather into seconds of motion: cumulus boiling up, fog pouring over a ridge, a storm front rolling in, colour draining from a sunset. They make strong openers and quiet backgrounds for titles, and they almost never show anything that needs a release.
Choosing one
Look for a steady horizon and no flicker; exposure jumps between frames are common in amateur timelapses. A lot of sky with a sliver of landscape leaves room for text. Mind the frame rate when you mix timelapses with live footage, and the length: many are only a few seconds long, so loop or ping-pong short ones.
